Lines of communication
  1. Report directly to President.
  2. Work directly with most employees, some clients and technology suppliers.
 

Compensation Dependent on training, experience and on-the-job accomplishments. 

Job Location Simcoe, Ontario, Canada (Bright open concept office located in downtown core.) 

Hours 9 to 5, flex-time, occasional after hours scheduled and unscheduled work 

Job Summary Develop applications for the web, desktop and PDAs. 


Responsibilities
  1. Provide services internally and to our clients.
  2. Conspire with sales to provide estimates and suggestions on what to propose to clients.
  3. Do requirements capture, design, development, testing, deployment and customer support.
  4. Develop for one or more of: open source web, Microsoft web, Windows, Mac, Pocket PC, Palm and Blackberry.
  5. Cooperate with co-workers to choose tools that optimize productivity, quality and maintainability.
  6. Use an iterative risk driven team based development mythology.
  7. Adhere to best practices and standards published by OS makers and bodies such as W3C.
  8. Keep proper records for accounting and to facilitate future maintenance and customer support.
  9. Keep up to date on technology trends, tools, languages and standards of practice.
  10. Other duties as requested.
 

Desired Skills & Experience
  1. Relevant technical degree or diploma would be an asset.
  2. Basic computer systems administration skills.
  3. Contentious about data preservation, continuation of service, quality and details.
  4. Proficient at using Windows, Mac, PDAs, Internet and office suite.
  5. Knowledge of the environment in which our technology is used.
  6. Must work independently but be willing to ask for help when appropriate.
  7. Must multi-task and prioritize on the fly.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. English required, French would be an asset.
  9. Must have a passion for customer service and patience and empathy for clients in distress.
 

Requirements
  1. Must have licence and reliable vehicle for travel; mileage & parking will be reimbursed.
  2. You must be bondable, eligible to work in Canada, and free to travel abroad.
