John Matecsa

The Big Fish

I am the Big Fish (a.k.a President) of Picasso Fish Corporation. I oversee everything which happens within the company and make the final decision. I established Picasso Fish Corporation in 2000. A few years later I partnered with Dr. Mark Ghesquiere and we established PDA Consults, which provides medical software and database to mobile workers. 

I have earned honors B. Sc. in computer science and statistics from McMaster University, plus a large variety of technical and non-technical courses. I acquired a lot of knowledge during my 14 years of employment at a Simcoe based high tech company called RDS Data Group. I started out as a programmer and eventually became in charge of R&D and IT departments with a staff of 25. I worked on point of sale projects for the quick service industry. We worked for many notable clients, such as Famous Players, Tim Hortons and Harveys.

I was raised on a tobacco farm near Simcoe, I moved into the town of Simcoe, when I was a teen. I lived in Hamilton for the duration of my post-secondary education then moved back to Simcoe and married Andrea, my high school sweetheart. I have traveled to eastern Canada, eastern USA, Caribbean, Central America and Southern Europe. 

I enjoy spending time with my children, wife, family and friends. I also enjoy sailing. In fact, I used to own a Hobie Cat. I currently race in Port Dover on the Erie Witch. I have gone bare-boat sailing in the British Virgin Islands and dream of sailing around the world. I also enjoy playing games (especially RISK) camping, golfing, reading, science, playing guitar. Oh and of course computers, I just can't get enough!
